The Strong United NTEU Team stands for a genuinely united union capable of delivering secure jobs, addressing inequities, and continuing to rebuild our sector.

We will work with members to build on the things the NTEU has historically done well – such as our nationally coordinated enterprise bargaining approach – and to develop new and innovative strategies to increase the Union’s influence in our workplaces.

We will give sustained priority to the local needs of members by supporting active delegate networks. We will inject new life into the Union’s enterprise bargaining campaign through a strategic approach to negotiation including the use of public pressure and strong industrial action. We will prioritise the issues of job security, work overload and aggressively prosecute allegations of wage theft.

And we will build a national campaign for proper public funding of universities and reform of corporatised management structures. We will target the eye-watering remuneration packages of senior executives, the use of consultancies, and the misdirection of university funds away from core activities.

We want to work with NTEU members to build a united, inclusive and powerful union.
